LogVey is built for UK waste receiving sites. We collect only what we need to operate the service and submit waste tracking data to Defra on your behalf. We never sell your data.

2. What data we collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Account data: your name, work email address, company name, and nation when you register
- Site data: your receiving site name, address, environmental permit reference number, and nation
- Waste movement data: carrier details, EWC codes, waste descriptions, quantities, vehicle registrations, driver names, and arrival times that you log through LogVey
- Team data: names and email addresses of team members you invite to your LogVey account
- Usage data: log-in times, pages visited, and actions taken within LogVey for security and service improvement purposes
3. Why we collect it (legal basis)
We process your data under the following legal bases under UK GDPR:
- Contract performance: to provide the LogVey service you have signed up for, including submitting waste tracking data to Defra on your behalf
- Legal obligation: waste tracking data is submitted to Defra to help you comply with your legal obligations under the Environment Act 2021 and associated regulations
- Legitimate interests: to improve the LogVey service, maintain security, and prevent fraud
- Consent: for any marketing communications (you can withdraw consent at any time)
4. How we use your data
We use your data to:
- Create and manage your LogVey account
- Submit waste movement records to the Defra Digital Waste Tracking API on your behalf
- Send you account and service notifications (e.g. account activation, submission confirmations)
- Provide technical support
- Improve the LogVey platform
- Comply with our own legal obligations
5. Who we share data with
We share data only where necessary to operate the service:
- Defra (Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs): waste movement data is submitted directly to the Defra Digital Waste Tracking API. This is the core purpose of LogVey.
- Supabase: our database and authentication provider. Data is stored on EU infrastructure (Ireland). Supabase is GDPR compliant.
- Resend: our transactional email provider, used to send account and service emails. EU data processing.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.
6. Where your data is stored
All LogVey data is stored on EU infrastructure located in Ireland. We do not transfer personal data outside the UK or EEA without appropriate safeguards in place.
7. How long we keep your data
- Account data: retained for as long as your account is active, plus 2 years after account closure
- Waste movement records: retained for 7 years to comply with environmental record-keeping requirements
- Usage logs: retained for 90 days
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time (subject to legal retention requirements) by emailing hello@logvey.co.uk.
8. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Right to rectification: request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure: request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Right to restriction: request that we restrict processing of your data
- Right to data portability: request your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to object: object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time

9. Cookies
LogVey uses only essential cookies necessary for the service to function — specifically, authentication session cookies managed by Supabase. We do not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies.
You cannot opt out of essential cookies without logging out of LogVey, as they are required for the service to work.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:
- All data transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption)
- Row-level security policies on our database so users can only access their own data
- Authentication managed by Supabase with industry-standard security
- Access to production systems restricted to authorised personnel only
11. Children
LogVey is a business service intended for use by waste industry professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify users by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of LogVey after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
